Almstrandens Kourage Fantasi
1985 - 1999
The lineage of the kennel began with her.
But, in fact, it began much earlier than that…
When I reached the age of 20, I finally achieved my dream and acquired my first “long-desired dog”. All through childhood and my teens I had been allergic to animals and could never own a pet. Having longed for a dog for so many years, any animal-lover will understand the pure bliss I felt. How the allergy happened to disappear remains a mystery. Perhaps my intense longing for a dog contributed to the production of the “right” antibodies - I´ll never know.
We named the “long-desired” Zeb (Sadler´s Kaki), a wonderful and charming little chap who was loved and pampered by his mistress and master. At that time we had no thoughts of dog shows, field trial or breeding. Just having a dog was enough.
When dog No.2-Nicke (SUCH Sadlers Semlan-u-Kakan) arrived in the house, all changed. We got involved in shows and hunting evaluations, and it was fun.

Nicke sired a few litters, one being with Almstranden´s Hera, of which I was to receive one of the puppies. The year was 1985. The litter consisted of five dogs and two bitches and I wanted a bitch-puppy, but the question was: which puppy? A friend, who also happened to be a show judge, advised me to take the “shortest one”. So home we went with Ici – Almstranden´s Kourage Fantasi – the kennel´s pedigree bitch, who proved to be a fantastic breeder. In addition to being an exemplary mother to her pups and passing along a superb temperament,build and coat.many of her offspring have been most successful as show dogs and the like. She had five litters with different dogs, and of total of 34 puppies, they have achieved 29 CC, BOB and BIS ratings, several prices at field trial and various diplomas in obedience. She was a great personality, friendly and tolerant with people and other dogs. She was endowed with a strong mentality, confidence and stability, which she handed down. I was unbelievably fortunate to have had the advantage of beginning my breeding career with this bitch. May I make good use of the experience !
Ici won the Golden Retriever Club´s ,Top Brood bitch 1995.
She had a long healthy life which ended peacefully in the spring of 1999,having reached the age of 14. .
Ici´s second litter, with SUCH Kimbalee Rio-Di-Rialto, produced K Malle-Maja, another good breeding bitch who bore brilliant and beautiful offspring with, for examlpe, Nuch Dewmist Swinging On A Star – K Starmaker reserve c.c., K Starlet – C.C BOB, and with Multich Blakesley Cromwell – K Oskdroppe 3 CCs, Cacib, BOB – BIS winner, whose son K Wish Upon A Star – reserve CC, will hopefully become a real nugget of gold.
For Ici´s fourth litter I chose SUCH Amirene Larus as the lucky charm, a great HIT! Among this litter of seven puppies were K To Be Loved – CC Cacib ,BOB, K To Be Next Door 2 CCs Cacib BOB and BIS winner, K To Be or Not To Be – 3 CCs, Cacib, BOB winner plus K To Be Continued – 7 CCs + 2 CCs in Norway, cacib, BOB – BIS winner.

Chaplin – SUCh NUCh Solstrimmans Arctic Piece of Cake . 3 CCs BOB – BIS winner, whose daughter Sammie – Pennygirls Zommardröm, has taken 3 CCs, BOB and BIS-places. Chaplins daughter Solstrimmans Ztella Virginiz are also living with me, and she has 1 CC and 2 fieldtrial novice so far.
Orry - Kakis One Step Ahead, grandson of Chaplin after SU(u)CH Colbar Step Ahead - SU(u)CH Pennygirls Zommardröm, a joy of life with a big intensity. He is a very exciting acquaintion.
